A job! A job!
Performing on the Internet Radios Thursday! →
This coming Thursday, the 23rd, which is also my dear oldest sister Teresa’s birthday, I’ll be performing/experimenting with MUSIC on the ‘Konspiracy Korner’ program of Seattle’s very own ‘Hollow Earth Radio’ (.org) - - should be a really cool treat, tune in!
THAT
Was a weekend!
Woo!
Finished my FareStart training and am looking forward out into the unknown with a confidence only satisfactory completion nets. This is exciting!!!
The people there are really cool, they really care, they trained me well and sent me off with knives, a book, and so much more… Eat at FareStart, everyone! Www.FareStart.org
Graduating!
Well, I passed my exit exam today! That means in a week and a day, I will have completed my FareStart culinary training. It feels good, yet bittersweet. Good to complete something, naturally, but bittersweet because there are so many cool, fun people that have colored my day-to-day existence that I’m bound to lose touch with at least some as I seg to a new phase of it.
To Reasons, Seasons,...
This is actually awesome →
And I kind of want one. Maybe if I ever have a kid. Or something.
Ai Ai Ai
I realized my other e-mail has been down since early AM saturday. I had a nasty habit of just leaving all my e-mails without deleting them, and i reached a quota I didn’t know I had!! Well, solved now. SPAM AWAY, INTERNETS!!
Home Stretch
-Final two weeks of culinary training, and today a few customers remarked that their salmon was ‘perfect’
-fixed up my cruiser by truing the rear wheel, replacing the seat and post, building a new chain out of two old ones, and replacing the innertubes
-magma fest is coming up!
-the weekly Tuesday coffee meetups I’ve been hosting are zeroing in on a year straight,...
Promise is such sweet sorrow.

PSA
Never, ever watch the documentary ‘Dear Zachary’ before going to bed. It will likely haunt your dreams. The content of that movie is seriously f’d up. Why, people, why? #afraidtosleep
The day was long
We had our fun, now here’s a song for when day is done. Na na na na naaa, na na NA na na na na….
…hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle, the cow jumped over the moon. The little dog laughed to see such sport, and the dish ran away with the spoon!
No seriously, this was an incredibly tiring day.
Hard Times
Heard today a street friend tried to flip the switch on his life. Bummer, for sure. Trust me, if you ever have a moment of doubt, go forward without the armor, for what lies ahead and around the bend is what makes this whole shebang worth going through. To be, gang, to be.
Love & Mercy.
I relish
The far too few opportunities I get in life to give the universal ‘slit your neck’ gesture to someone through a window of people within a crowded room, who will be the only person who gets it.
Pab·lum
[pab-luhm]
- 1. brand of soft, bland cereal for infants - noun 2. trite, naive, or simplistic ideas or writings; intellectual pap
3/4!
I am 3/4 of the way through my 16-week training. You know, in all honesty, I’d hire me. I’d also climb into a bed that ain’t my own right now. Snow and ice be damned! Hell, I’d even matte my quills and consider cuddling for the time. But no hanky pablum. Pablum turns to lanky. PANKY. tired.
Pigeons in the snow know where to go. And how apropos, the word of the day is ‘sagacity’.
This Book
Is delightful thus far. First one I can think of that I wish I had written, or possibly could. This year I work. Damn it all.
Smirks
The amount of smirks combined with the books I just checked out tell me this: we’re on and/or up to something.
The Solitude of Prime Numbers
A very breezy read, indeed! Interrupting my reading of a book on the feasibility of parallel universes and another on life as a loop (which, I might add, I lost somewhere before finding it again. The book. And yeah, my life, too), The Solitude of Prime Numbers, as written by a gentleman with a Phd in particle physics, is a good romantic deviation. Like all of them. Swell.
Quilted Multiverse
In a Quilted Multiverse, there’s no sharp divide between one parallel universe and another. All are part of a single spatial expanse whose overall qualitative features are similar from region to region. The surprise lies in thendetails. Most of us wouldn’t expect worlds to repeat; most of us wouldn’t expect, every so often, to encounter versions of ourselves, our friends, our...
You're Invited!
Community Dinner at FareStart
When: Tomorrow, January 4, 2012 from 5:30 to 6:30 pm
Where: FareStart Restaurant (7th and Virginia)
Hope to see you there!
Glimpse! The library downtown has two practice rooms available for an hour at a time. This can be nothing but good. A little something I came up with yesterday. This would be a good song for a teenage werewolf and/or forbidden romance type film.
Resolutions pt2
-Hawaii
-Visits with all family, blood and otherwise
-more museums and shows!
-read at least a book a month, ideally 3 or more per
-make more art, enough for a gallery.
-get into a rhythm of cooking at least three full meals a week for more than myself
-get back on stage. Perhaps improv.

Solidly Good Day
Checked out two new books, had a very fun Chef’s night at training, and ending by visiting with friends. Food, shelter, and love. Who could ask for anything more?
Resolutions pt1
-fly an airplane
-obtain/build a recumbent chopper tricycle
-cycle a 100 miles (century ride)
-become more fluent in music theory
-hover around 180lbs
-become free of all debts
-surf more
Responsibility
Means having to forego bending over backwards to visit LA for essentially half a day as I must be ready to cook some more on Monday. Anyone reading this that had hopes or expectations revolving around my making and taking this trip, I apologize and promise to make it up to you.
Love,
Seb
On that last post
Duh! Duh! The one about the river!
This is cryptic to everyone but me. But that makes five. And I had it inside already. Hence, duh.
The Tide
Looking for a fifth number to complete an idea I got developing. Or maybe I’ll be more original… I know something glaring will catch my attention sooner or later!!
Christmas
I will be in L.A.!
Naming Nature →
Just finished reading ‘Naming Nature: the clash between instinct and science’, and give it a solid thumbs up! While I have to cop up to this being my first read on taxonomy practices in my rendering the first third a bit sluggish for my taste (hold the salt), the admittance works twice as powerfully to highlight my awe at the revelations, articulated so well, of the remainder. Well...
Sacrifice
I have loaves of bread in my trailer that were supposed to go bad two months ago. They haven’t because it is very cold. I go to sleep with all of my clothes on, in a cocoon sleeping bag, lately after blowing out a candle because my source of electricity has been denied me. Not complaining; I have bread!
But damn it’s cold. We’ll get through this, me, and be better for it.
